Transform National Gatherings
Transform Network hosted its first national gathering in 2010, and we continued organizing national conferences through 2016, when we took a hiatus to reevaluate the efficacy of these events. After much discernment, we decided to use our platform to launch the Transform Speakers Bureau to get the voices of prophetic Christian leaders in front of more people in more spaces more of the time!
But the history of Transform’s national gatherings is one that we still celebrate — and we are actually planning an event in May 2021 in partnership with the Wendland-Cook Program in Religion & Justice at Vanderbilt Divinity School in Nashville, Tennessee, called “Liberating Justice”! (More details TBA soon!)
2016
In 2016, we partnered with Middle Collegiate Church to put on the first Revolutionary Love conference at Middle in New York City.
2015
In 2016, we partnered again with Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C., to host a National Gathering on Urban Transformation.
One highlight from this gathering the closing keynote sermon by Rev. Dr. William J. Barber II.
2014
In 2014, we returned to the West Coast for the second time for a national gathering hosted by Missiongathering Christian Church in San Diego, California.
2013
In 2013, we partnered with Brite Divinity School in Fort Worth, Texas, to host a Southwest national gathering.
2011
In 2011, we partnered with the Parish Collective on the first Inhabit Conference, hosted by the Seattle School for Theology and Psychology (formerly known as Mars Hill Graduate School).
2010
Transform Network held its first national gathering in partnership with Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C., April 30-May 2, 2010:
“We are gathering missional practitioners on the East Coast to learn from each other and to mobilize others for forming new missional communities.
“Whether you’re a pastor, prospective ‘church planter,’ or simply interested in finding out more about transformational missional communities of practice, this gathering is designed to inspire and equip you to go and do likewise!”
