We have been mentored in faith-rooted organizing by our “madrina” Rev. Alexia Salvatierra, who co-authored (with Peter Heltzel) the book Faith-Rooted Organizing: Mobilizing the Church in Service to the World (InterVarsity Press, 2014).
We love Alexia’s scripturally based framework for deep systemic social transformation. Alexia has been a keynote speaker at multiple Transform Network events.
We offer trainings in faith-rooted organizing because we believe that progressive Christians can make tremendous healing and transformational contributions to movements for justice. But we need to understand how social movements work and posses the organizing skills to join in what God is already doing in the world of social justice.
