#GetOnTheBus to Reduce Mass Incarceration
Transform Network is partnering with Exodus Foundation around its Campaign for Commutations and Pardons of all non-violent federally convicted persons. One simple way to support this important campaign is to sign this petition online now!
Another way is to join Transform's Steve Knight in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, March 26, for an education day and Congressional symposium organized by Exodus Foundation.
With bipartisan support, Attorney General Eric Holder and President Obama have ushered in a monumental paradigm shift with their support for "Smart on Crime" public policy. Exodus Foundation is moving the needle forward with its "Campaign for Commutations and Pardons" which will be introduced during the briefing next Thursday. They will also be discussing their "Sense of the House Resolution" calling upon Congress to dramatically reform the Criminal Justice System and replace it with a Restorative Justice System.
We had the opportunity to hear Exodus Foundation founder Dr. Madeline McClenney-Sadler speak on mass incarceration at the recent Samuel DeWitt Proctor Conference. We know this is such a vital issue facing our urban centers, as we approach the Transform 2015 gathering in D.C. at the end of next month.
Holly Roach and Steve Knight recently spent a weekend with friends from Presence.TV and Forum 21, plotting goodness, particularly around contemplative activism across the boundaries of faith and spirituality and collective action for climate change policy at the international level. It was quite an inspiring weekend!
A lot of our conversation that weekend centered around spiral dynamics and integral spirituality. Related to that, Holly will be participating in the upcoming Return to the Heart of Christ Consciousness conference, March 27-30 in Boulder, Colorado.
In case you missed it, check out the archived video from our last Open Conversation on Contemplative Activism and Practice, featuring Lisa Anderson (Auburn Seminary/Groundswell Movement), Robyn Henderson-Espinoza, Teresa B Pasquale, and host Micky ScottBey Jones. It was amazing conversation! Don't miss it.
